Songlines

Songlines are tracks across the landscape. As Aboriginal people walk about the land they sing the names of every plant and rock, revealing the creation of the land and the secrets of its past. These Songlines are one huge maze that defines their world – the ancient tracks connect communities and follow ancient boundaries. For a young man, 'acquiring ritual knowledge' was extending his song-map - widening his options of places he could travel by exploring the world through song.
